The Installation Location screen appears.  Choose a destination folder to install the software, and then click ‘Next’.

**Due to certain read/write permission issues under the Program Files on Windows machines, the default installation location is the C: drive.  We suggest keeping this default installation path in order to run Geomatica.

Python Support in Geomatica Banff

In Geomatica Banff support for Python 3.5 has been added. The official End of Life (EOL) date for Python 2.7 is January 1, 2020 - https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0373/#update. As such, Python 3.5 is now the default version supported by Geomatica Banff. We highly recommend that users switch their existing scripts to Python 3.5 as the next release of Geomatica will not support Python 2.7. Information is available from the following link on the changes between versions and how to update Python 2.7 scripts to Python 3.5 - https://docs.python.org/3/howto/pyporting.html.

To help reduce the disruption to customer’s workflows, PCI has chosen to provide customers with the option to use Python 3.5, Python 2.7 (same as Geomatica 2018) or both Python 3.5 and Python 2.7. If you have Geomatica Python 2.7 scripts that you would like to continue using in Geomatica Banff, we would recommend choosing the “Install required modules for Python 3.5 and Python 2.7” option as this will allow you to run your Geomatica Python 2.7 scripts but also update the scripts to run in Python 3.5.
