Geomatica Standalone Dongle-less Installation

PCI Geomatics -

The purpose of this tutorial is to provide you with a friendly and easy to follow step-by-step guide for a dongle-less standalone installation of PCI Geomatica.

 

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

 

To complete the installation, you will first need to download the corresponding files from our website which can be seen at the following link: http://www.pcigeomatics.com/Downloads

 

**Please note that the demo data is a separate installation and is not included in the above file.

 

STEP 1 – Software Installation

 

Launch the Geomatica executable that you previously downloaded.  The following window appears:

 

 The Geomatica Installation Wizard starts.

Click ‘Next’ to proceed.

 The license agreement for Geomatica appears.  Please read through the agreement and select ‘I accept the terms in the license agreement’ and then click ‘Next’ to proceed.  By not agreeing to the terms and conditions the installation will immediately cancel.

The Installation Location screen appears.  Choose a destination folder to install the software, and then click ‘Next’.

**Due to certain read/write permission issues under the Program Files on new Windows machines, the default installation location is the C: drive.  We suggest keeping this default installation path in order to run Geomatica.

For a Standalone Installation (without a dongle), choose Standalone (local license without a dongle) as the installation type, and click ‘Next’.

The Python installation panel appears.  Please  ensure that the checkbox is toggled on, and select  ‘Next’ to proceed.

The installation is ready to begin.

Click ‘Install’.

 Step 2 – Installing Sentinel System Drivers

 

If you do not have the current drivers for the software you will be asked to install them now.

 

The Sentinel System Driver Installer now appears.  Please select ‘Next’ to proceed.

The Program Maintenance screen now appears.  Please toggle ‘Modify’ and select ‘Next’ to proceed.

The Custom Setup screen now appears.  Please select ‘Next’ to proceed.

The Ready to Modify the Program screen now appears.  Please select ‘Install’ to proceed.

The Sentinel System Driver Installer is now complete.  Please select ‘Finish’ to proceed.

The Geomatica Installation Wizard is complete.  Check “Yes I would like to launch the License Utility” and click ‘Finish’.

Step 3 – Requesting a License File

 

Now that the installation has completed you will need to request a license file, and then apply it into the PCI Geomatics License Utility.

The License Utility Appears.  Take a screenshot of the license utility and send it as an attachment to license@pcigeomatics.com

Be sure to e-mail your customer number, name and company name along with the fingerprint information.

You will then be sent a license file by our PCI Licensing team.

*Note, to take a screenshot, use CTRL+Print Screen.

**Once installed Geomatica comes with a trial mode that automatically enables software functionality. See Trial Days Left to see how many days you are entitled to.

Upon receiving your license file, save a copy locally into My Documents for easy reference.  After doing so click the Import button in the License Utility (accessible through Start > Programs > PCI Geomatics > Geomatica 201X > License Utility) and navigate to the location of the license file and import it.

The Package field will list all the packages you are entitled to with this license.

The standalone installation (dongle-less) of Geomatica is now complete. You may start using the software.
